As our Pastor, Harry said; we are a group of ordinary people worshipping and serving an extraordinary God.
After Sunday Service, we all get together over a nice cup of tea & a biscuit. Sometimes, we have 'Bring & Share', where everyone enjoys some delicious home-made food.

What does Bethel believe?
We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and that Jesus Christ died to make salvation available to everyone who puts their trust in Him. The Bible is our final authority, the Holy Spirit is active in our lives today, and every member is baptised by full immersion as a public declaration of their faith. Read our full Core Beliefs.
What type of church is Bethel?
Bethel is a warm, welcoming evangelical church in Macclesfield, part of the Old Baptist Union — one of the oldest streams of English Baptist life. We are an independent, congregation-led church with a lively Sunday service, a strong community spirit, and a heart for reaching out to those around us.
How long has Bethel been here?
The Church was accepted into the Old Baptist Union back in 1895, but evidence shows that the Baptist Chapel on Calamine Street was there as far back as 1770; making it the oldest Baptist church in Macclesfield.
Is Bethel part of a wider denomination or network?
Bethel is part of the Old Baptist Union (OBU), a small but historically significant fellowship of around 16 independent Baptist churches across England and Wales. The OBU is itself a member of both the Free Churches Council and the Evangelical Alliance, connecting us to the wider family of evangelical and free churches in the UK. Read more about our beliefs.
How can I get involved or serve?
A very easy, simple start is to come along on Sunday morning. Come and enjoy our Sunday Service, and take it from there. We have lots available, from Coffee mornings, Bible Studies, Prayers, to Outreach. Do as little, or as much as you enjoy. Read more about Church Life.
Does Bethel support any local or global missions?
We do indeed. We support Hope in North East Cheshire.
We are also partnered with: Old Baptist Union, Evangelical Alliance and North Western Baptist Association.

Yes — our Pastor can conduct weddings and funerals at Bethel.
Several members of our congregation have been married here, and we are glad to support people through these important occasions with the care and reverence they deserve.
We also hold adult believer baptisms and children's dedication services.
