Roland

Elder & Finance Officer

I was brought up in a family that went to Church regularly so that church-going was part of my life. Strangely, it was through friends from other Churches that I discovered that there was something much deeper to being a Christian. I learnt that what mattered more than attendance on Sundays was where I stood with Jesus Christ. I decided I was going to follow Him – and I've done so ever since, although not always very well. I got to know other people who lived the same way, including a girl, Sue, who I married in 1976.

We came to live in Macclesfield in 1979 and been members at Bethel ever since.

After a while the Church asked me to become an Elder, and I have now held this office many times.
