\u201cBelieve on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.\u201d<\/em>

\u201cAre you saved?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is surely the most important question we should ask each other, and ourselves, \u201cAm I truly saved?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we stand before the Lord Jesus Christ on the Day of Judgement, are we confident that we will be accepted by Him and welcomed into heaven? Numerous Scriptures emphasise the fact that eternal salvation comes only through belief in Jesus Christ and no other way, e.g.,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God\u2019s one and only Son.<\/p>\nJohn 3:18 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When we are born into this world we do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, rather being descended from Adam we are \u201cin Adam\u201d and stand condemned before God, that is true of everyone. The proof of this is that we all die:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.<\/p>\nRom. 5:12 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.<\/p>\nRom. 3:23 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

The wages of sin is death.<\/p>\nRom. 6:23 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To be absolutely clear unless our sin has been dealt with we are not going to make it, for we already stand condemned before Him. It is pointless trying to come before God, as many do, and tell Him about all the good things we have done. We cannot be saved and get into heaven unless our sin is dealt with. Jesus Christ is the only One who has ever died for the sin of the world. His death was an atoning sacrifice for our sin, and the proof that the Father accepted this was that He raised Him from the dead. Therefore,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to humankind by which we must be saved. <\/p>\nActs 4:12<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In Acts, the Church  is flourishing, growing so quickly. Was it because the apostles watered down the truth so that the message would be a lot more palatable? No, just the opposite. They preached the truth. They preached Jesus. They told people that they were sinful and guilty before God and that they needed to repent. Here\u2019s a sample of Peter\u2019s first message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTherefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.\u201d<\/em> When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, \u201cBrothers, what shall we do?\u201d<\/em> Peter replied, \u201cRepent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit \u2026\u201d<\/em> With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, \u201cSave yourselves from this corrupt generation.\u201d<\/em> Those who accepted his message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. <\/p>\nActs 2:36-41<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Today is Pentecost Sunday, celebrating the birth of the Church, when the Holy Spirit was poured out from heaven (Acts 2:17-18, 33; cf. 10:45) upon the fledgling Church on the Day of Pentecost. Jesus, had emphasised, how important it was for a person to receive the Holy Spirit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus replied, \u201cVery truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.\u201d<\/em>  \u201cHow can someone be born when they are old?\u201d<\/em> Nicodemus asked. \u201cSurely they cannot enter a second time into their mother\u2019s womb to be born!\u201d<\/em>Jesus answered, \u201cVery truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of \u2026 the Spirit.<\/em> <\/em>Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.<\/em> \u2026 <\/em>You must be born again. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.<\/em>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\nJohn 3:3-8 <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
