Even so, come, Lord Jesus! &#8230; Amen. <\/p><cite>Rev. 22:20-21<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are the last words in the Bible. For sure, the Lord wants us to have in our minds that He is coming again, and when He comes, He will come quickly. Three times in this chapter the Lord has spoken similar words,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Behold, I am coming quickly!&nbsp;Blessed&nbsp;<em>is<\/em>&nbsp;he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.<\/p><cite>Rev 22:7<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Behold, I am coming quickly, and&nbsp;My reward is with Me,&nbsp;to give to every one according to his work.<\/p><cite>Rev 22:12-13<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are variously spoken in the context of the whole of the prophecy of Revelation, of keeping the words of the prophecy of the book, and of rewarding believers for their life-long commitment and work for the Lord. Right throughout the NT we have reminders that the Lord is coming again, e.g.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be \u2026 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.<\/p><cite>Matt. 24:27, 44<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Let&nbsp;not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father\u2019s house are many mansions; if&nbsp;<em>it were<\/em>&nbsp;not&nbsp;<em>so,<\/em> I would have told you.&nbsp;I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you,&nbsp;I will come again and receive you to Myself; that&nbsp;where I am,&nbsp;<em>there<\/em>&nbsp;you may be also.<\/p><cite>John 14:1-3<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them&nbsp;in white apparel, who also said, <em>\u201cMen of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This&nbsp;same&nbsp;Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven,&nbsp;will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven\u201d<\/em>.<\/p><cite>Acts 1:10-11<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p><cite>Philippians 3:20<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.<\/p><cite>Colossians 3:4<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever.<\/p><cite>1 Thess. 4:16-17<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>While we wait for the blessed hope&nbsp;\u2013 the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.<\/p><cite>Titus 2:13<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.<\/p><cite>Hebrews 9:28<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord\u2019s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.<\/p><cite>James 5:7<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.<\/p><cite>1 Peter 1:13<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.<\/p><cite>1 John 2:28<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Look, He is coming with the clouds, and <em>\u2018every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him\u2019<\/em>; and all peoples on earth <em>\u2018will mourn because of Him.\u2019<\/em> So shall it be! Amen.<\/p><cite>Revelation 1:7<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question is <em>\u201cAre we ready?\u201d<\/em>, Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Quote of the week<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#f8e9c8\"><em>\u201cBible teaching about the Second Coming of Christ was thought of as \u201cdoomsday\u201d preaching&#8230;not anymore.
