autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption><sup>[Merlin] Absolute Label Services (on behalf of Elevation), and 4 music rights societies<\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Word<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please read: <\/strong>Romans 3:9-20<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>There is no one righteous, not even one.<\/p><cite>Rom. 3:10<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We may take exception to such a statement from the Scriptures and even refer to a person who we think is a good, righteous, and morally upright person. However, none of us decides or defines what standard of righteousness we are talking about \u2013 it is God who does that. It\u2019s as if the apostle anticipates that there will be some who object to this statement, <em>\u201cThere is no one righteous<\/em>&#8220;. <em>\u201cAh but you don\u2019t know Daniel Abrams \u2013 now there\u2019s a righteous person if ever there was one<\/em>&#8220;. The apostle repeats his statement with an additional phrase, <em>\u201cThere is no one righteous, not even one, [not even Daniel Abrams]\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thinks of the ruler who came to Jesus and insisted that he had kept all the commandments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cAll these I have kept since I was a boy\u201d <\/p><cite>Luke 18:21<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus then fine-tunes the commandments and the man went away sad realising God\u2019s standard of righteousness was too high for him (Luke 18:23). Even the disciples were taken aback by the standard,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, \u201c<em>Who then can be saved?<\/em>\u201d<\/p><cite>Matt. 19:25<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Jesus\u2019 reply we have the solution,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Jesus looked at them and said, \u201c<em>With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible<\/em>\u201d.<\/p><cite>Matt. 19:26<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like Salvation, Righteousness, is a gift from God to all who believe. Before a person can come to that place of being saved, of being declared righteous in God\u2019s sight, of receiving righteousness as a gift, of receiving the gift of His Holy Spirit, they must abandon all thoughts of self-righteousness and fully trust in His righteousness, and be born anew into the kingdom of God\u2019s Son, the kingdom of righteousness, Amen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quote of the week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#f8e9c8\"><em>\u201cRighteousness \u2013 is living as God desires humankind to live\u201d<strong> <\/strong><\/em><br><br>D. Jones<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Verse of the week<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God \u2013 that is, <strong>our righteousness<\/strong>, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: &#8220;Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord&#8221;.<\/p><cite>1 Cor. 1:30-31<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Let\u2019s Pray<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHeavenly Father, thank You for Your gift of righteousness, such that by Your grace, we are now in a right standing with You, and that by Your Spirit, You are changing us more and more into the righteousness of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
